Mountains, lakes, beaches … We imagine them in many ways, but perhaps never pink. But those places exist and we are going to visit them.
We visited 10 places in the world dressed in pink

We are not going to see the world with a pink prism, but these wonderful places are of that color. Some are an incredible quirk of nature, others are the result of man’s work. It does not matter, in any of them the result is almost overwhelming. Do you want to see it?

1. Antelope Canyon, United States

If there is a magical corner on the planet, this is it. A canyon of sinuous shapes in which the light that enters is dispersed in a spectacular way, creating an almost dreamlike image. The canyon walls are stained in different shades of pink, mixed with orange and violet. A place of authentic fantasy located in Arizona

2. Lake Hillier, Australia

The waters of this lake are a rabid bubblegum color, which stands out even more as it is surrounded by green vegetation and with the sea in the background. What is this color due to? At a high salinity that means that only very particular bacteria can survive in its waters, which are what give it that tonality.

3. Pink Lake, Senegal

Thousands of kilometers from Lake Hillier, on the African continent, Lake Rosa or Lake Retba, shares the same characteristics: high salinity and, in this case, it is an algae that makes a red pigment to absorb light. And it is that salt that becomes the sustenance of the populations that surround the lake.

4. Salinas de Torrevieja, Spain

Also in Europe there are pink lakes. In this case, we go to Torrevieja, in the province of Alicante, where this lagoon is part of a natural park of enormous beauty. Here too the salt is exploited. But the most striking thing is the show with the sunset lights, simply fascinating.

5. Balos Beach, Crete

On the island of Crete there are wonderful beaches. But that of Balos does not stand out for having white or golden sands, but because they are pink. A color that is due to the remains of coral washed ashore. The pink hue of the sand and the intense blue of the sea make this one of the most unique beaches in the Mediterranean.

6. Pink Sand Beach, Bahamas

And in a paradise like the Bahamas, you can enjoy this beautiful beach. Five kilometers of sand of a light pink tone that will make you believe that you are in an unreal world. Some say that it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and, of course, one of the most romantic. Its color, as in other pink sand beaches, is due to the remains of coral.

7. Flowery desert, Chile

Although it may not look like it from the image, the Atacama desert in Chile is one of the driest places on Earth. But in the rainy season, and only if certain conditions are met, it is covered with a beautiful vegetal carpet. That is why they call this phenomenon the “flowery desert”. One of the most fascinating spectacles that can be contemplated.

The cherry tree is the national flower of Japan. And when spring arrives, fields and cities turn pink in a floral explosion that becomes a great event. It is the hanami , the moment in which the Japanese take the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and a show that only lasts a few days.

9. Jaipur, India

The beautiful Indian city of Jaipur is called the “pink city”, and with good reason. Its facades are of this color. The reason? Here pink is the color of luck and hospitality, so many of its buildings are covered with a kind of stucco of a curious salmon pink hue.

10. Morelia, Mexico

Another pink city, but this time in Mexico. Many of the historic buildings in Morelia are built in a unique pinkish stone from quarries near the city. Among these buildings, its cathedral stands out, considered one of the most beautiful in the country.
