Throughout the Pyrenees you can find authentic natural wonders. Places full of magic that offer unforgettable pictures. We want to show you, precisely, some of the corners where you can enjoy the most incredible landscapes of the Pyrenees. Can you come with us?
Tena Valley, one of the best landscapes in the Pyrenees
It is a glacial valley that is located in the Aragonese region of Alto Gállego, one of the largest and most populated in the Pyrenees. Here you can admire one of the most memorable alpine landscapes, with peaks that rise up to 3,000 meters in altitude.
In addition to offering us a spectacular landscape, in the Tena Valley there is a wide range of activities. You can tour the Lacuniacha Wildlife Park, or jump on a zip line and contemplate the place from a different perspective. We cannot forget skiing, in the Formigal-Panticosa station.
Some of its towns are also worth visiting . Biescas has an interesting historical and cultural heritage. Sallent de Gállego is partly occupied by the Natural Monument of the Pyrenean Glaciers. And in Tramacastilla de Tena you can see its Romanesque church, with a Renaissance altarpiece.
Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park
From the Tena valley we go to the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. It is also in the Huesca Pyrenees and is a true spectacle of nature. In fact, it is a World Heritage Site, a Biosphere Reserve and a Special Protection Area for Birds.
Among the essentials of the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park is the Añisclo canyon, a valley with a glacial cirque at its head. You also have to admire the Pineta Valley, one of the most majestic in the Pyrenees; the Cola de Caballo waterfall, surrounded by green meadows; and the town of Torla.
In this list of the most spectacular landscapes of the Pyrenees, you could not miss this corner full of magic. It is already in the lands of Navarra and it is the second largest beech-fir forest in Europe. It is only exceeded in extension by the Black Forest of Germany.
The best way to discover all the charms that the Irati Forest has to offer is by hiking. The different routes can start from the municipality of Orbaizeta or from that of Ochagavía. In the latter case, go to the Virgen de las Nieves reception area.
The Bohí Valley is a beautiful place where mountains and rivers flow. But it also stands out for its rich monumental heritage. In fact, it houses a Romanesque complex of great interest dating from the 11th and 12th centuries.
Also noteworthy is the Aigüestortes National Park, the only reserve in Catalonia with peaks that exceed 3,000 meters in height. Here you must visit the Lake of San Mauricio, located at the bottom of a glacial cirque and surrounded by spectacular mountains.
Likewise, in the Bohí valley is the ski resort with the highest level of all those located in the Pyrenees. It is the Boí-Taüll Resort. It has numerous slopes and its top offers views of Pallars Jussà and Pic de l’Orri. It has recently been nominated as the best station in all of Spain.
This Catalan region, located to the east of the mountain range, is a place where you can discover some of the most incredible and wild landscapes of the Pyrenees. It is full of hidden and inaccessible places, but of great beauty.
To enjoy magnificent views of the valley, you can take the cable car that goes up to the La Molina ski resort. This has more than fifty slopes and a large snowpark to have a great time in the snow of the Pyrenees.
